Profiling my target group
I have chosen my target group students based on term one data and observations I collected from running records, PAT reading results, and PAT raw score. I noticed these students shared commonalities in achievement data and reading behaviours.
The next step for me is to collect student voice and feedback of teaching and learning (Ako) among these students. This will help me to recognise how they perceive themselves as readers, the struggles they have, and what they think they need help with.
After observing reading during running records, as well as in-class guided reading I noticed these students shared a commonality of struggling to visualise what they were reading, and further self-monitor their reading. Also, their PAT reading results, and PAT raw scores showed there was a gap in reading comprehension.
